“We will do whatever we can to get you the help you need. – Wounded Warrior Homes, Gene Jennett”
After dedicating their lives to keep our country safe, many veterans who have recently left the military face unique struggles preventing them from comfortably integrating into the civilian world. Many veterans who suffer from PTSD and or TBI are placed on the Veterans Affairs waiting list to receive medical, mental, or financial aid often with no home to return to. The process to receive government aid can range anywhere from 90 days to a few years. Wounded Warriors provides hope, camaraderie, transitional housing, and many other resources necessary to live a balanced and healthy life versus sleeping on the street. The selfless organization is growing and partnering with resources nation wide in order to assist veterans anyway possible.

Gene Jennett, Wounded Warriors Assistant Director, was able to share the organization’s story on SmartSanDiegoTv earlier this May. Gene explains how the community can become immediately involved in the Wounded Warrior Homes cause and how Wounded Warrior Homes differs from other organizations. Mia, the founding member, began taking in homeless veterans allowing them to sleep on the floor in her house. Maintaining that same dedication today, the organization is now able to provide single room housing to veterans for up to two and a half years and seeks to open multi-unit complexes to transition more vets whereas other organizations can not provide shared housing for more than sixty days.
To be a part of this cause Wounded Warrior Homes is accepting all tangible donations and monetary donations. Wounded Warrior Homes is located directly in the heart of San Diego County, a naval community. Give locally and support the veterans who fought to protect your freedom.
