The Founders
Mia and Steve Roseberry’s journey of dedication, compassion, and service led them to co-found Wounded Warrior Homes in 2009, creating a lasting impact on the military community they hold so close to their hearts. With a deep-rooted connection to military life—Mia being a 4th generation descendant of U.S. Marines—their shared passion for supporting veterans shaped the very foundation of this organization.
Mia’s background in Special Education, focusing on Moderate to Severe Disabilities, along with her further education in non-profit management, planned giving, and fundraising, equipped her to understand and address the unique challenges faced by veterans. As a survivor of a childhood automobile accident that left her with permanent hearing loss, she intimately understands the road to recovery after traumatic injuries, a perspective that drives her dedication to helping those with mild Traumatic Brain Injuries transition back to everyday life.
Steve, a seasoned home inspector and licensed residential contractor, brought hands-on expertise and a practical approach to their mission. For over 20 years, he has owned and operated his own home inspection and contracting businesses, offering a keen understanding of creating safe, supportive housing environments.
Together, Mia and Steve combined their skills, life experiences, and shared vision to create a safe space for veterans to find stability and support. Their dedication has left an enduring legacy within Wounded Warrior Homes, even as they transition into retirement. As active community members, they remain a guiding inspiration, continuing their involvement through various veteran-focused organizations and community service.
Wounded Warrior Homes exists today as a testament to Mia and Steve’s unwavering commitment to giving back to those who have given so much.
