VA eBenefits
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs official benefits portal. You may be eligible for monthly benefits, no matter when or where you served. These benefits include:
Disability Compensation: Veterans can apply for disability compensation for service-related injuries or conditions. This benefit provides essential financial support.
Add or Remove Dependent: This feature allows veterans to update their dependents for benefits purposes, ensuring that their benefits accurately reflect their current family situations.
Pension Benefits: Aimed at veterans with limited income who served during wartime, this program provides vital financial assistance.
Education Benefits: Through this portal, veterans can apply for and manage their GI Bill and other educational benefits, crucial for furthering education or training post-service.
Certificate of Eligibility for Home Loan: Veterans can apply for a Certificate of Eligibility for a VA-backed home loan, a key resource for home ownership.

VA Coaching Into Care
“Coaching Into Care” is a national telephone service of the VA which aims to educate, support, and empower family members and friends who are seeking care or services for a Veteran.
VA Assistance for Family Caregivers
The VA’s Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers offers veteran caregivers support as they attend to the basic daily needs of the veteran. There are minimum standards of care needed to qualify for this program. There is a link to apply as well.
National Archives
Link to request a veteran’s military service records. This includes discharge documents (DD214 or similar items), personnel records, proof of military training, awards, and assignments. Additionally, has links to request military medical/health records and procedures to obtain lost medals and awards.
State Resources
CalVet
Provides information about state and federal benefits for California veterans and their families. Also offers services to assist California veterans with their earned benefits through education and advocacy.
San Diego County Resources:
Property Tax Exemption
The Disabled Veterans' Exemption is available for qualified veterans or the unmarried surviving spouse of the veteran to reduce their property taxes. The exemption amount is adjusted annually due to inflation.
Office of Military and Veterans Affairs
The Office of Military and Veterans Affairs provides benefit information and assistance, plus other support to San Diego County veterans and their families.
