How Our
Program Works
Our Mission
The mission of Wounded Warrior Homes is to provide transitional housing, hands-on resources and services for veterans. We support each member to define a clear path to transition successfully from active duty to independent living. Our primary program provides affordable transitional housing as well as access to a wide variety of community-based programs such as recreation, job education, and placement, transportation, medical and dental services, veteran benefit specialists, and financial counseling. Our on-site services include case management, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, and connecting our veterans to our food pantry.
Transitional Housing
Wounded Warrior Homes stands out with its Transitional Housing program, an effective approach to aiding those who have served with a phenomenal success rate of 95%. Operating in the San Diego area, the program offers direct assistance through three homes, each providing a private room for veterans. The program allows us to provide 5475 nights of housing for veterans facing homelessness, now including female veterans since 2023.
The program's structure operates on a month-to-month basis, targeting the immediate needs of veterans while encouraging progress toward personal goals. The program's structure operates on a month-to-month basis, targeting the immediate needs of veterans while encouraging progress toward personal goals. This approach is not just about providing shelter; it's about fostering an environment where veterans can focus on rebuilding and moving forward with civilian life. We recognize the specific challenges veterans face, such as homelessness, lack of access to job opportunities, and even common conditions such as PTSD.
The success of this program is evident in its results. By offering a stable living situation, veterans are better positioned to pursue employment, education, and other opportunities critical to their reintegration into civilian life.
Food For Vets
Healthy meals are an essential need for the veterans in our program. Wounded Warrior Homes has partnered with North Country Food Bank and Feeding San Diego to provide veterans with the critical supplies needed to aid their transition.
With the help of our community of donors, we can provide the essentials to veterans who need support during their transition. We welcome a variety of food donations, including all types of packaged and sealed items. Our facilities are fully equipped to handle and store refrigerated and frozen foods, in addition to shelf-stable products, ensuring a broad range of nutritional options for those we serve.

Your support is crucial in aiding veterans through food or financial donations. Contributing food items, including packaged, refrigerated, or frozen goods, directly impacts veterans' lives, as we support thousands of veterans through our food pantry.
Monetary donations are equally vital, helping to sustain our housing and support services. Every contribution, regardless of size, makes a tangible difference in the lives of our warriors, aiding their transition to successfully reinsert in civilian life.
We invite you to join us in this mission to honor and assist those who have served our nation by donating today.
